Steering Shaft Washer
This steering shaft washer was designed to clean metal chips from a steering shaft. The washer consists of eight white nylon fixtures for the steering shafts. Each nylon block is rotated one eighth of a revolution, or 45 degrees, by a pneumatic indexer. A steering shaft is placed skinny side up into the white nylon block located at the first position. The machine then will index once the part is firmly in place and all safety conditions are met. The steering shaft is flushed with fluid after the indexing once. The steering shaft is dried with a blower for several more stations until it returns back to the beginning where it is unloaded and replaced with another shaft.
