Battery Motion Table

Huff Technologies has partnered with Daramic® to develop new technology to test lead acid batteries by simulating typical operating scenarios. Vehicles are accelerating and decelerating as they carry these batteries, and in order to understand the failure modes of a battery, it is important to mimic real world operation. The Battery Motion Tester or Shuttle Table produces up to 1g acceleration and deceleration over a 16-inch span. This tester can accommodate up to twelve batteries at a time and is capable of storing ten different testing procedures to trigger motion. The Battery Motion Tester plots current and voltage readings for each individual battery and also plots the motion table’s acceleration using an accelerometer.
